The long run is where most of us blow up — not from lack of fitness, but from going out too hot and having nothing left at mile 9. So many times I’ve been ready to go the second I’m out the door, with great music in my headphones, an easy couple of minutes’ warm-up, and then push—Hard. Three miles later I pay for that. I built this playlist to babysit my pacing so I don’t have to think about it. It opens slow on purpose, holds a long honest plateau through the middle miles, and gives you two deliberate dips — built-in permission to back off and recover before the next stretch.

Run it in order, no shuffle*. When the Afrobeats dip hits around the 40-minute mark, ease up — that’s the plan, not a stumble. Then ride the climb out: the back third stacks tempo until “Mr. Brightside” hands you a finish you’ll actually feel.I’ve tested this on a loop between Pier 25 on the West Side Highway (NYC) and 59th Street. I love running next to the water, but this playlist makes it even better.
